Arabic-Speaking EFL Learners’ Recognition, and Use of English Phrasal Verbs in Listening and Writing

This study investigates the usefulness of acquiring English PVs (as a key component vocabulary) using listening activities. Therefore, this analyzes how Arabic speakers studying as foreign language (EFL) understand and use phrasal verbs through listening. A self-administered survey was distributed to 74 students, mainly from Saudi Arabia. They listened recording incorporating frequently used identified those they could recognize. The also measured ability respondents provide sentences in which gave their meanings Arabic. findings indicated that EFL students are likely more familiar with writing than an oral context. For instance, average respondent detect six or seven out ten heard, while about 90% provided correctly writing. Respondents recognized some others. At least 80% “pick me up,” “go on,” out,” less 47% “came out” “set up.” More 81% knew correct definition verbs. These offer foundational data help improve methodologies for learning
